Report: Kings sign Dennis Schroder, deal Jonas Valanciunas to Denver

Mandatory Credit: Darren Yamashita-Imagn Images The Sacramento Kings are signing free agent guard Dennis Schroder and trading center Jonas Valanciunas to the Denver Nuggets, ESPN reported Tuesday.
Schroder, 31, agreed to a three-year, $45 million contract after splitting the 2024-25 season with three teams.
The Kings receive journeyman big man Dario Saric from Denver in exchange for Valanciunas, who has two years and $20.4 million remaining on his contract. Sario has an expiring contract.
Schroder averaged 13.1 points, 5.4 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 75 games (49 starts) last season with the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors and Detroit Pistons.
He has career averages of 13.9 points, 4.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 842 games (424 starts) over 12 seasons with nine teams.
Valanciunas, 33, averaged 10.4 points and 7.7 rebounds in 81 games (21 starts) last season with the Kings and the Washington Wizards.
Valanciunas has career averages of 13.1 points and 9.3 rebounds in 937 games (848 starts) over 13 seasons with five franchises.
Saric, 31, appeared in 16 games (four starts) for the Nuggets in 2024-25 and averaged 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds.
Saric has averaged 10.4 points and 5.3 boards in 493 career games (230 starts) with six teams over parts of eight NBA seasons.
